Venue: Marquee at Poble Español (Barcelona).
One more year, JEAN LOUIS DAVID's franchises gathered together to celebrate their annual convention. As in 2005, we decided to hold the event at the marquee at Poble Espanyol. But in order to avoid the feeling of repetitiveness on the side of the audience, we started from scratch as far as the staging is considered.
There was a central stage of 24m, 0,40cm high, and from which 3 catwalks sprung: two of them, 12m long each, along the marquee, and a third one across it, connecting the main stage with the models' dressing room through a shelter. In this way, the audience could closely follow all the activities at the stage and the catwalks, since the seats were placed at both sides of these and surrounding the main stage.
As an audiovisual reinforcement we made use of six 4x3m screens at each side of the marquee, 2 of them dedicated to live broadcasting and the other 4 for lighting projections and corporative logos. Lighting and sound were hanging from a 100m truss structure previously designed, which allowed us to cover the whole marquee and create the atmosphere we required at every moment.
That year, the workday had as its mainspring the presentation of the new tendencies of the season with live demonstrations and, as in the previous edition, it had its own solidarity part: the world campaign promoted by L'Óreal and UNESCO with the slogan "HAIRDRESSERS AGAINST AIDS".
On the side of entertainment, there was an interesting novelty: a parody tailored-made by professional actors with different humorous remarks to show hairdressers the common defects and mistakes that happen in the hair salons. It enjoyed a great success from the whole audience, which saw itself reflected in the parody. JORGE ASTYARO, the illusionist , also took part in this workday with mental games of intuition and extrasensory perception, and a DJ played the music for the whole conference.
