JEAN LOUIS DAVID CONFERENCE FALL/WINTER 2006/2007. OCTOBER 2006
Venue: CUBIC at Viladecans (Barcelona).
One more year, JEAN LOUIS DAVID's franchises gathered together to celebrate their annual convention. This time, the chosen venue was CUBIC at Viladecans. It was an intense day, full of surprises. All throughout the day there were motivational speeches and presentations of the new tendencies of the season (a return to the 80s).
As a novelty, there was a solidarity event: Jean Louis David reached an agreement with the Federación Española del Síndrome de Down (FEISD). Thanks to this agreement, members of this group shall enjoy discounts on all shops, and 5 children with Down's syndrome actively took part in the catwalk, being models for one day.
The benefactress of this agreement, who acted as a master of ceremonies, was the extraordinary Bibiana Fernández, popularly known as Bibi Andersen, one of Almodóvar's girls.
As far as the technical production is concerned, the starting point was a diaphanous site, and our main goal was to create an atmosphere typical of the 80s. To this end, a special design was created, addressing the client's wishes and the event's needs -a central 14-metre-long catwalk as an entrance, 2 attached catwalks leading to 2 different platforms and the main 40m2 stage. Due to the special content of the meeting, it was crucial that the whole audience could follow as closely as possible the different activities that would take part in all the different areas. As for the lighting, we worked with programmed mobiles which created different atmospheres and textures. There were both catwalks met there was a 1 metre diameter sphere made of mirrors, which prevailed over the scenography as if we were in a disco.
A DJ livened the various interventions from the main stage all throughout the day.
The whole event was live broadcasted with 4 cameras and a production system with 4 huge screens which surrounded the site in a symmetrical way. The final
surprise of the day was the show performed by a Drag Queen who imitated Madonna together with the dancers from UNIQ, a urban dance group, with a hot theme: Hung up.
